Bike Glens Falls - Advocating for a safe, comfortable, and connected bike network in the City of Glens Falls.

A citizen led group, in coordination with Adirondack Cycling Advocates, will:

  • Document

    Document existing conditions including past plans, bicycle infrastructure, and relevant demographic information

  • Establish

    Establish and maintain a dialogue with stakeholders representing local and regional government, not-for-profits, the business community, neighborhood groups, public safety, educational institutions, and transportation entities

    Engage Glens Falls residents at the earliest stages of the planning process to understand their interests, needs, and ideas for a safe and connected network of bicycle infrastructure. This includes meetings, the establishment of a citizen ‘Steering Committee’, a social media presence, and press releases.

    Develop a series of recommended physical and programmatic bike network improvements and prepare a concise written and graphic report that can be used as the basis for new policies and grant funding applications

  • Present

    Present the resulting recommendations to the Common Council and encourage the adoption of the Bike Glens Falls plan as an official policy document

  • Recommend

    Continue to advocate for and seek to advance the recommendations of the plan

Desired Outcome

A publicly developed plan that presents a long range vision for bicycle infrastructure improvements and provides a series of short and long term recommendations along with implementation strategies. An informed citizen led group that continues to advocate for the plan’s long-range vision.
